Rutang has been a trustee since October 2021. He is also a member of the Charity's Financial, Audit and Risk Committee.

Rutang brings over 20 years' industry experience. He supports financial institutions with their risk measurement and management and with business transformation programmes. Lately, these have centred on climate risk management and sustainability.

Rutang is a keen STEM supporter. As well as promoting science learning in general, he gives strategic direction to the Charity's climate and sustainability aspirations. He is a father of two children who remind him regularly that they would like to continue to live on a habitable planet. Along with other trustees, Rutang promotes the Charity's role in greater climate, biodiversity and wider sustainability awareness through education, first-hand experiences and science-based advocacy.
