Sara's motivation for encouraging young people to fulfil their potential stems from her own experiences. The first in her family to go to university, she saw first-hand how wealth, privilege and gender can shape a career path.
This discovery led her to mentor pupils at her previous school and law students at the University of Southampton, who were the first in their families to go to university. She also set up hospital scout groups to enable young people who couldn’t attend to gain experience from their hospital bed.
Sara knew Wonderseekers was the perfect place to help every child reach their potential. With over 24 years as a commercial solicitor in private practice (and later in-house where she set up its first training programme for solicitors), she had the experience to help Wonderseekers further its aims. Her ongoing desire to improve accessibility and expand Wonderseekers’ reach continues to please both her head and her heart.
Sara has spent her life in the South of England. She loves long walks, especially along the Itchen Navigation with her husband and dog, and has a passion for textiles, sewing and knitting.
